Filmmaker and Amatoria Pictures founder Marcin El was practically born into the visual arts, influenced early on by his grandmother (a painter) and his father (a photographer). His obsession with cinema began at age three, watching The Neverending Story in a 24-hour theater in Łódź.

After studying film and television directing at Hamburg’s renowned Studio Hamburg grounds, Marcin focused on documentaries. His graduation milestone was adapting the bestselling book Friedlich in die Katastrophe into an acclaimed documentary on nuclear energy, which earned an award in Rio de Janeiro and a global audience across seven languages.

A pioneer in new media, Marcin has also spent years crafting immersive VR 360° experiences for major brands like BMW and Red Bull. Today, he returns to traditional narrative storytelling with his anticipated debut feature film, Red on Black.
